Forró and Nordestina


Music from northeastern Brazil has numerous structures including frevo, maracatú, baião and forró, yet all are impacted by Portuguese society tunes. The rhythms are solid however moderate and the beat regularly originates from the accordion or guitar. Verses are sung in a gravelly, nasal nordestino complement.
